Danielle’s mother contacted me last year asking if I could create the flowers for her daughter’s
croquembouche, which would be made and assembled by the charming french bakery Patisserie La Cigogne.
I loved the idea and signed on for the collaboration. I was a wee bit skeptical about making
“ice blue” flowers. But when I saw it in Wedluxe Magazine, it all made perfect sense! So pretty…

Kate Middleton Inspired Wedding

In anticipation of the royal wedding, CBC’s Steven & Chris hosted a special Royal Weddings episode which featured a few Kate-inspired Roxycakes creations. The talented Melissa Haggerty of Spectacular Spectacular designed this breathtaking table setting and worked closely with industry colleagues, and yours truly, to bring her refreshing vision to life. What I *love* about this setting is the sugar cloches (or domes) created by Chef Philippe of the Four Seasons. Do they not make you crazy? Garden Collection

Confession: I can’t keep fresh flowers alive for more than a couple days. I can however make sugar flowers that last a lifetime. So I have a brown thumb in the garden and a green one in the kitchen. It’s working out fine.

So this collection was inspired in part by my dream to become an master gardener (for sure no), and unceasing passion for sugar art (for sure yes). Industry colleague and talented wedding photographer Mary Clark of Lemon Fresh Designs lent her incredible skills for this shoot and Sheridan Nurseries provided the perfect backdrop for the project.

The best part? No. Watering. Required.
